Development of ICT-Based Learning Media to Enhance Students' Digital Literacy Competence in Social Media Usage

Abstract

This study aims to develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning media to improve students' digital literacy competencies in utilizing social media as a learning tool. The background of this study is based on the still low ability of students to utilize social media such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok effectively, critically, and responsibly in an academic context. The method used is Research and Development with the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were students who utilize social media in the learning process, with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and digital literacy tests. The results of the study indicate that the developed learning media is declared feasible based on validation by material experts and media experts, and proven effective in improving Thus, the resulting ICT-based learning media can be an alternative solution in improving students' digital literacy competencies, especially in utilizing social media such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok as effective and responsible learning tools.
